Cake…Cake…Cake…

On October 22nd, I (somewhat) celebrated my 28th birthday. I had been looking forward to that day for so long, that I was having dreams about how EPIC it was going to be. Yet because life loves to throw curveballs and put a damper in whatever plans you make, none of my visions came through. I envisioned myself coming alive in the night as I painted the town red, but instead, I had to work and ended up getting extremely sick.

Yet the bright side to it all was that I got a pair of boots I’ve wanted forever and I spent the night with my babies and my best friend. And even though I felt cheated out of having a good day, I was pretty content and thankful to be around people I loved that also loved me….

Guts Over Fear

We cannot start over, but we can begin now, and make a new ending…

– Zig Ziglar

For some people, starting over can be scary. But I think that it can only be scary because it tends to take you out of your comfort zone and requires you to actually make a change. Lucky for me, I love change and reinventing myself, so I welcomed this much needed transformation into my life with open arms. But it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be… Continue reading

My Wakeup Call

“Did you work on your dreams today?”

Well...did you???

Well…did you???

When I first saw this question, I was immediately overwhelmed with guilt because my answer was simply, “NO!” And for a few more months, I continued to feel that way. But I soon came to the realization that if I did what needed to be done, I wouldn’t have to feel that way anymore.

So the other day, I decided to get serious and focus solely on creating content for my brand. And although writing is something that comes naturally, it has been challenging to keep it up with everything that has been going on. But so far, I have been on top of it when it comes to creating content – especially for my blog posts. However, the only thing missing would be queued videos on my channel, which is why I will be filming all week to combat that.

A few days ago, I posted on Facebook that I was tired of the inconsistency with my blog, my channel, and just my overall brand. So, I started writing whatever came to my mind and when I cleaned my “office space”, I came across a few articles I started months ago that I never got around to finishing (jackpot!).  Needless to say, 80% of those articles are done, have scheduled dates to be published, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself! Also, as I am writing this, I’m in the process of uploading a video to my channel and putting together a script for another that I am recording today!

I guess you can say that I’m finally on top of things, or that I’m at least working towards it, and it feels really good! I’m excited, proud, and ready to see where things are headed and I would love for you to continue this journey with me!

At the tender age of 3, a beautiful, chocolate girl had her mother taken away from her as a result of a violent act intended for someone else. And while this is unfortunately common in the streets of LA, it is something that no child should ever witness first-hand. Continue reading
